Description: Our courses are designed to teach strong mathematical and problem-solving skills. All courses incorporate lessons designed to help students develop the literacy skills necessary to succeed in mathematics and effectively communicate their reasoning to others. We emphasize the development of critical thinking and problem-solving techniques that are not specific to mathematics, and can be applied to real-world problems, including coursework in other subject areas. Our courses are designed to support each student, regardless of his or her mathematics skill level. The Mathematics Department course curricula are currently being revised so that all courses are aligned with the Massachusetts State Curriculum Frameworks and the Common Core standards.
