Description: This course focuses on mastering the real number system and the language and symbolism of Algebra. Students write, manipulate, and solve equations in and out of real world contexts. Students explore the definition of a functional relationship and then analyze, graph, and model with functions. This course is designed to help students make the transition from concrete thinking to abstract thinking and develop problem-solving techniques that are relevant to all topics. Throughout this course, students will revisit core pre-algebra skills and concepts as they maneuver through Algebra 1 curriculum and standards.
